One of my favorite Blender websites is turning 7 years old today! Blender Nation is dedicated to documenting the events and happenings in the Blender 3D community. It’s a great website, and I highly encourage everyone that has an interest in 3D and/or open-source software to frequent this site.
I am a big fan of Walt Disney and his company. Ever since I can remember I’ve been fascinated by the man and his company’s creations. Tonight on the Blaze TV, Glenn Beck talked a little about Disney’s vision for Disneyland and showed us around the map from the 1953 Disneyland Prospectus that Walt and Roy used to court banks with. Walt and his chief artist drew the map, and Walt hand-colored it himself. (The prospectus has been site in some bank employee’s closet before being auction off.) Glenn even talked about and showed some old footage of Walt’s WED Enterprises (Now Walt Disney Imagineering). Great stuff!
The Disney-talk is more-or-less a segue into Glenn’s American Dream Labs, which Glenn plans to introduce on his TV show this week. ADL is suppose to be in the same vane as WED in the sense that its sole purpose is to seek and create new life-changing innovations in different fields. (Like farming.) I honestly haven’t thought much about ADL, other than the light-bulb guy in the logo reminds me of the drug LSD. (I knew a guy in high-school who drew a picture with a light-bulb person while under the influence. And someone in the same classroom mention that LSD users tend to draw lightbulb guys while high. I have no clue if that’s even true. But that’s why. 😛 )
